An extensive programme of high-quality conferences for professional visitors is an essential feature of any trade show.
This year’s Cersaie will feature seven meetings organised by the Centro Ceramico Bologna in cooperation with Assopiastrelle to examine the most important new developments and topical issues in the ceramic tile sector.
The first conference, to be held on Wednesday 27 September at 10.30, is entitled “Research, technical support and training in the ceramic tile sector”. It will focus on the importance of ceramic tile’s dual role as the end result of a technologically advanced process and as a product used for applications requiring ever higher technical characteristics. The meeting will reflect the experience of the Centro Ceramico Bologna, which is celebrating the thirtieth anniversary of its foundation this year.
“Italian ceramic tiles: a material for sustainable architecture”, to be held on the afternoon of Wednesday 27 September at 15.00, will provide a detailed picture of the environmental excellence of Italian ceramic tiles and implications for its competitiveness compared to rival materials.
On Thursday 28 September at 10.30 it will be the turn of “Research and innovation in the Constructions cluster of the Emilia Romagna High-Technology Network: tiles with functionalised surfaces”, a technical meeting that will provide detailed information on the activities of the cluster, with particular reference to themes of interest to ceramic tiles.
Reliability is the theme of a dedicated meeting to be held on Thursday 28 September at 15.00 and entitled “Quality and safety: Keymark and CE mark”. It is the fourth conference exploring the direct and indirect economic benefits of an awareness and use of these two tools.
“Exports: problems and solutions for ceramic tiles” is the title of the technical meeting scheduled for Friday 29 September at 10.30 which aims to offer an extensive and up-to-date picture of the tools available to combat the non-tariff barriers restricting exports to some non-European markets.
“Ceramic tiles in urban architecture and public spaces”, a conference to be held on Friday 29 September at 15.00, is aimed at an audience of designers, architects and builders. The purpose of the meeting, during which two publications on the theme will be distributed, is to provide effective solutions to a large number of problems relating to selection criteria and tile installation techniques suited to the relevant applications.
The programme of technical conferences organised by the Centro Ceramico will end with a meeting entitled “Ceramic tile installation: guidelines for perfect tiling”, to be held on the morning of Saturday 30 September at 10.30. The meeting is aimed in particular at ceramic tile layers for the purpose of providing an overview of the requirements of an excellent tile installation.
